Sewage System Upgrades - Khazarengineering

Khazar Engineering was awarded the contract for upgrading the sewage plant located in the starboard side forward column on the Heydar Aliyev semi-submersible drilling rig. We fitted a new Membrane Bio-Reactor (MBR) complete with a screen filter for solids removal. In order to position the new unit, deck loading calculations were performed to the satisfaction of the American Bureau of Shipping.

Based on the deck loading analysis an equipment layout was produced followed by detailed design. An installation methodology was produced taking cognisance of the requirement to install all equipment and fabrications through a 2 metre wide by 3 metre high temporary aperture in the column. Equipment was moved into position using rig permanent craneage.

All designs, calculations and materials of construction were to the satisfaction of the American Bureau of Shipping.
